New medical goiter balls are being made by a team of researchers at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas.
The balls were created from medicinal plants that are known to have anti-inflammatory properties.
“Goiter balls” are an inexpensive and easy way to provide an anti-inflammation benefit to people with chronic, painful or life-threatening conditions, said Jami Gaskin, MD, PhD, lead author of a study published in the Journal of Medicinal Plants.
The study also found that goiter ball manufacturing has been highly successful for the team. “
They also have antiinflammatory properties, which are very beneficial to people who suffer from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.”

“As a result, we have seen that these balls are an excellent choice for people who have no other choice but to go through chemotherapy, radiation or other surgeries,” said Dr. Gaskins, who is also the assistant professor of surgery and a board member of the American College of Medical Genetics.
“Our hope is that the goiterballs we make will be as useful as any other medicine ball, as long as you use the right herbal ingredients and avoid over-the-counter or prescription medications.”
The goiterball was a product of Dr. Bodega, a pharmacist in Seattle who was inspired by the work of Drs.
Davenport, Sallin and Zuckerman.
He used the same materials and methodologies as Drs Davenports and Sallins.
“These balls are very simple to make, and they are cheap,” Dr. Dave said.
“It’s really easy to get your hands on, and it’s very affordable.
You can make a ball for about $5 a piece, which is not much more than what it costs to buy a normal goiter.”
“The ball is made with two components, which includes the seeds, the plant material and the ball itself.
Each ball is a little different, but you can still use the same ingredients.
We use the traditional plant material of a black raspberry or a sweet potato, which produces a very dense ball that absorbs water and creates a barrier to the mucus produced during the treatment,” Drs Sallini and Zumberman said.
Dr. Sallinis and Dr Zumbermans work with an array of herbs that are also used in their goiter treatments.
“The best part is that we have the most powerful antiinflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of any medical treatment we have,” Dr Sallis said.
The team has been experimenting with several different types of goiter medicines.
The ball is being manufactured with a compound called polysaccharide, a form of sugar that is produced naturally in some plants, which also is effective against bacterial infections.
The polysacchaide compound is used in many herbal medicines and in some dietary supplements.
The goerins’ product is made from a plant called Nymphaea vulgare, which contains the natural anti-microbial and antiinflammatory components of the Nympha plant, which was first used in ancient China as a medicine for intestinal disorders.
Dr Sallahis said that the ball is also manufactured with the active compound, called baclofen, which can be used in conjunction with Nymphae in certain cases.
“In our study, we were able to show that the bacloften is effective in blocking the progression of gastric ulcer and in reducing inflammation in patients with Crohn, ulceration of the esophagus and ulcers in the stomach,” Dr Dave, who has also collaborated with Dr Sallais and Dr Salli.
